About Ian

Ian is a London-based graphic designer specializing in web and new media solutions. Having worked on the web since early 2002, he is well versed in pixel pushing, interface design & development, and systems design. Focusing on user–experience and interaction, he has made a wide range of solutions for his clients.

Obtaining his Bachelor of Design in 2008 from the York University/Sheridan College Joint Program in Design (YSDN), he has acquired a skill-set for online and new media solutions. During the beginning of his education, he began taking on small and pro-bono contracts in web design and development.

Ian is currently working for the County of Huron creating new web systems with them. As well, Ian is currently taking on new projects.

Ian provided not only technical and creative assistance developing the Huron County Health Unit's web presence. He also wordsmithed alongside county employees.

While working for Rogers Communications, Ian instructed the Senior Systems Analysts how to use Dreamweaver for rapid prototyping.

Rogers Communications
While working for Rogers, Ian introduced and demoed jQuery to the Rogers.com and Fido.ca Development teams. Demonstrations focused on how jQuery could be used in both their public and internal websites and web applications.

Adcentricity AdVenue
Working with Adcentricity's Development team, Ian created the interface for Adcentricity's web platform, AdVenue – a Django web application.

New Meadowlands Stadium
Ian reviewed and recommended changes to Cordon Media's New Meadowlands website. He then worked with both creative and development to implement these recommendations to make it more compliant with WCAG.

Lights Out (PSA)
Collaboratively, Ian worked with Kevin Tam and Marek Okon to create a public service announcement, aimed to promote awareness of urban light polution.

Erina Typeface (unicase)
Ian has been working, infrequently, on Erina since 2007. It started as a unicase typeface that is slowing evolving into a full weighted body copy typeface.

Halton Region
During Ian's education at York University and Sheridan College, he had the priviledge to intern at Pier 8 Group, a Hamilton based design firm. Ian worked with Pier 8 to create Halton Region's Corporate Economic Development Strategy Report.

Adcentricity.com
As Adcentricity grew, they saw the need for a new website that was able to represent the company effectively. Adcentricity.com was developed from a web standards approach.
